ABOUT
David Hayes is an author, criminologist and consultant working in criminal behavior, adult education, and Title IX issues. He is a media specialist.
Dr. David Hayes consults and speaks abroad as a forensic behavioralist and criminologist as well as teaches and designs collegiate courses in psychology, English, and communications both remotely and on-ground. His academic research, outside of crime and media, has recently focused on higher education in prison settings. He holds a PhD and master's degree in forensic psychology from Walden University and also teaches communications and psychology for law enforcement organizations and within the Michigan Department of Corrections. He is a licensed professional investigator in the State of Michigan. Dr. Hayes consults with individuals, families, and law enforcement organizations in terms of cold case homicides offering case analyses.
He is an award-winning screenwriter, novelist, and educator as well as a long-tenured communications professional. Dr. Hayes has written extensively about film and pop culture history with a focus on their intersection with crime.
He is a board member of The Livingston County Literacy Coalition, a non-profit adult tutoring service in addition to his work with Rotary International. He is a member of the American Psychological Association, the Michigan Psychological Association, Psi Chi, The Society of Police and Criminal Psychologists, the American Corrections Association, and various alumni associations.
